Are my images uploaded or edited?
No. Your files stay in your browser. NameBatch checks the extension and a small file header only; it does not fully decode, repair, or edit images. Original image bytes and metadata, including EXIF, are preserved. There are no accounts, upload services, AI tools, or tracking scripts.
How do I rename product photos?
Select JPG/JPEG, PNG, or WebP files. Enter a prefix, start number, and minimum digit width. Review the filename preview, use Up or Down to reorder, or Remove to exclude a file. Prepare the ZIP, then choose Download ZIP. Your local original files are not renamed.
Which names can I use?
Use a prefix of up to 60 Unicode characters, beginning with a letter or number. Letters, numbers, combining marks, underscores, and hyphens are allowed; spaces and other symbols are not. Chinese and other Unicode letters are preserved. With blue-mug, start 7, and 3 digits, a .jpg file becomes blue-mug-007.jpg. Original extension spelling and case are preserved, including .jpeg versus .jpg.
What are the limits?
Select at most 100 files, each at most 10 MiB, and at most 100 MiB in total. An over-count or over-total selection is rejected before file reading and clears the previous batch; select again to recover. Other invalid files stay visible with specific errors. Remove or replace them before exporting. Start at 1 or higher; the final number cannot exceed 999999.
What is inside the ZIP?
Every current image appears under the exact filename shown in the preview. mapping.json records each original sourceName, outputName, current 1-based order, and bytes. It preserves source filenames exactly and has one entry per image. There is no CSV.
Can I change or cancel a batch?
Yes. Cancel stops ZIP preparation. While preparing, editing is disabled. Selecting another batch, changing a naming rule, reordering, or removing a file clears any prepared download. Prepare a new ZIP for the updated batch.
